Archival Policies
As the faithful custodian of Maria Montessori’s legacy, vision and impact, the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) seeks to create an unparalleled Montessori digital library and archive.
Key goals in this endeavour include:
- Preserve, secure and provide open access to digital data to ensure that the legacy and life’s work of Maria Montessori will be made available to the world in perpetuity
- Collect and publish archival documents, materials and artefacts enabling access, actual and virtual, leading to increased scholarship and knowledge of Maria Montessori and Montessori education
- Catalogue, review, and preserve documents and materials for the archives
- Develop an archive library and resource centre, actual and online
- Create an online website of historical facts relating to Maria Montessori
AMI has established the following policy and standards framework to guide this work drawing from international best practices. AMI supports UNESCO’s promotion of Open Access.
