Tulips Blossoming in AMI's Garden
Tulips Blossoming in AMI's Garden
We thought that you would like to take a look at the ‘Maria Montessori’ tulips that are blooming in AMI’s small garden. They were named after Maria Montessori to celebrate her 150th birthday and since then we have heard from many friends around the world that they have bloomed, on balconies, in window boxes, in gardens — in many countries.
The tulips form a loving circle around the small statuette of Maria Montessori which is a miniature replica of the larger than life statue by Victor Gutiérrez, one of Mexico’s most well known sculptors. The original is located at the Centro Internacional Villa Montessori, in Morelia. Maria Montessori holds the 1000 cube in her left hand, and holds out her right hand for a small dove to land, the symbol of peace. To all of you, wherever you may be, we are thinking of you as you continue to work towards Maria Montessori’s vision of a more peaceful world.
