Photos, Videos and Audio

The Maria Montessori Archives include an extensive library of photographs, documenting her professional life: many photos show her surrounded by students, collaborators or congress participants. We see Maria Montessori opening courses, speaking at high profile events, and many more occasions. This section is devoted to a selection of photos that each have a memorable story to tell. In some cases we will also be able to include interesting background on the photographers who made some of the photos that were to become iconic and much loved.

We also feature a selection of videos and audio fragments, limited only because of the modest use of these media during Maria Montessori's lifetime, although she fully realised their importance and potential.
